SKF’s primary colors will race in the 5-Hour Energy 400 Benefiting Special Operations Warrior Foundation this Saturday, May 10th. Team Penske’s Ryan Blaney will pilot the blue and red No. 12 SKF Ford Fusion, making his first-career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start.
“I really couldn’t think of a better company to have backing my first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race,” said Blaney. “I’ve been fortunate enough to work with SKF a couple of times already this year in the NASCAR Nationwide Series and now for them to be a part of my first Sprint Cup Series race is really cool. That is something I will always remember, no matter how the race plays out. And knowing that SKF has been such a loyal supporter to Team Penske over the years makes it even more special that they are stepping up and sponsoring myself and the No. 12 team in Kansas and Talladega.”
Saturday’s race will be the first of three appearances for the SKF Ford Fusion, the others being at Michigan on June 15th and Talladega on October 19th during the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup. Juan Pablo Montoya will pilot the No. 12 SKF Ford Fusion in Michigan, while Blaney will make his second NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start in Talladega. Saturday’s race in Kansas will be telecast beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET, on the FOX Network.
SKF and Team Penske are in the third season of a multi-year racing partnership that saw Brad Keselowski win the Sprint Cup Championship in 2012. In addition to highlighting the SKF Group brand on the No.12 SKF Ford Fusion, it will also feature Lincoln Lubrication and Kaydon Corporation, an SKF Group company acquired in 2013. Kaydon, headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan, is an international manufacturer within three areas: friction control products, velocity control products and specialty products including environmental services.
