Ragan Thinks Fans Will Like Kansas under the Lights

David Ragan, driver of the No. 34 Taco Bell Ford, comments on racing at Kansas Speedway:

“It’ll be different racing under the lights in Kansas. Kudos to NASCAR for making some tweaks in the schedule. I know it’s going to be a little warmer in Kansas, so it’ll be a little more comfortable to run at night. We all love night racing, and it’s going to be great for the fans, too. I think the cars look great under the lights, and it gives the fans the opportunity to do a little tailgating throughout the day.

“There will be some adjustments that need to be made. There’s a little different tire. There’s the challenge of the racetrack changing a little bit from their cold winters and warm summers. So, we’ll have our work cut out for us for sure. But it’s always fun to go to Kansas and see all the race fans out there.

“Obviously, we’re all disappointed in how Talladega ended last week, but proud of our effort. We had a fast car, ran up front, and easily would’ve contended for a win or at least a top-five or top-10 finish if we hadn’t gotten caught up in that wreck near the end. But you can’t miss the ‘Big One’ every time. We missed the first one because we were up front, but our luck ran out after that.”

JUST THE FACTS: Ragan has 10 Sprint Cup career starts at Kansas Speedway … He has one top-10, two top-15 and six top-20 finishes at the 1.5-mile oval … His best finish at Kansas is eighth (2008).
