Roush Fenway Racing and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. have announced they are teaming with the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation to support the organizations’ continued effort to build ‘smart’ homes for injured military heroes. In addition, the organizations’ ‘9/11 Never Forget’ mobile exhibit will make its return to its North Carolina roots at RFR’s Fan Appreciation Day on May 22. The exhibit was built in North Carolina and was unveiled in Fayetteville in September 2013.
“It’s a great cause and I am proud to carry their colors on our race car,” said two-time NASCAR champion Ricky Stenhouse Jr. “It’s our duty as American Citizens to give back to the guys that give everything for our freedom and are true heroes. They are the ones that allow us to be able to chase our dreams each week – on and off the race track – and I am very excited to be able to help raise awareness for the work that these great organizations are doing to give back to them.”
Stenhouse’s No. 17 Sprint Cup Ford Fusion will run a special paint scheme in the Sprint Cup Showdown. The partnership will help raise awareness to build a smart home for Tom McRae, a Marine Gunnery Sgt. who served three tours of duty in Iraq before suffering life altering injuries while on his second deployment in Afghanistan. http://bit.ly/R4lsn0

Then, the fact that Lionel Racing will be making die-cast cars of the model, and donating a portion of the proceeds to us, makes it even more fantastic.”

And to know that Lionel Racing is going to take Ricky’s car and make die-cast models of it, and that part of the money raised from sales will go to building smart homes for military like me who’ve been badly injured, makes it really awesome.”
The ‘9/11 Never Forget’ mobile display is a traveling monument that honors those who lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks. It will be on hand at Roush Fenway for its annual fan day on May 22, marking its first appearance at the team’s headquarters..
The partnership marks the fourth season that RFR has teamed with the Stephen Siller Tunnel of Towers Foundation to raise awareness.
