Stenhouse Jr. Finishes 26th at Texas

After rain postponed the Duck Commander 500 at Texas Motor Speedway until Monday, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. worked his way up inside the top-20 before his Ford Ecoboost machine tightened causing him to settle for a 26th-place finish.

“It was a tough day for us,” Stenhouse said. “We just couldn’t get our Ford to turn and fought tightness for a majority of the day. We will have to look at our teammates set-ups and go back to work.”

After fighting a tight machine in qualifying, the 2013 Rookie of the Year started the Duck Commander 500 in the 31st-position.  Stenhouse quickly marched his way up inside the top-20 by the time the competition yellow was displayed on lap 49 because of the massive amounts of rain on Sunday.

As the race progressed, the No .17 Ford Ecoboost kept getting tighter despite the adjustments being made each pit-stop. With less than 100 laps remaining, crew chief Mike Kelley took a huge swing at the machine to loosen up the handling.

The adjustments helped free up the Olive Branch, Miss. native but Stenhouse ran out of laps and was forced to settle for a 26th-place finish. The Roush Fenway Racing driver currently sits 24th in the point standings.
