Front Row Motorsports Hires David Reutimann to Drive #35 Ford at Bristol Motor Speedway

Front Row Motorsports announced on their Facebook page that Zephryhills, Florida native David Reutimann will drive the team’s #35 entry this weekend in NASCAR Sprint Cup Series’ Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway. Reutimann, a second generation driver, joins teammates David Ragan and David Gilliland at Front Row Motorsports.

The #35 team has attempted all three races in the 2014 season making just one event, the Profit on CNBC 400 at Phoenix International Raceway. Eric McClure attempted the #35 Ford in the season opening Daytona 500 but missed the race after finishing 23rd in his Budweiser Duel. The team tabbed Nationwide Series regular Blake Koch to drive at Phoenix and Las Vegas with Koch finishing 37th at Phoenix and missing the race at Las Vegas.

Now the #35 Ford is currently 46th in owner points and will have to have a good qualifying time to qualify themselves into the Food City 500 at Bristol and have hired the veteran driver in Reutimann to the fold.

Reutimann has 232 career Sprint Cup Series starts in eight seasons. He spent the 2013 season driving for BK Racing and finished 33rd in the point standings. Prior to BK Racing Reutimann spent the 2012 season running a partial schedule for both BK Racing and Tommy Baldwin Racing. His biggest success came at Michael Waltrip Racing where Reutimann spent five seasons. Reutimann recorded two Sprint Cup Series victories at MWR, including an impressive win in the 2010 Lifelock.com 400 at Chicagoland Speedway. Reutimann was replaced at Michael Waltrip Racing in a controversial move when the team hired Mark Martin. Since then Reutimann has had to fight back in his career and now has a chance to prove his skills at Front Row Motorsports.

The team has not announced a driver for the following week’s race at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California.
