Mobil 1 “The Grid” Races into its Sixth Season

For its sixth season, Mobil 1 The Grid is set to return in a new, biweekly format expanded to capture the complete 2014 motorsport season. The 30-minute television series will kick off in the United States on NBC Sports at 2:30 am on Friday, February 28 and will be broadcast worldwide in 19 languages through December 2014.

“This year we will celebrate several significant Mobil 1™ brand milestones and, to top it off, we will launch a new biweekly format of Mobil 1 The Grid,” said Rebecca K. Aldred, global brand manager, passenger vehicle lubricants at ExxonMobil. “For the first time, Mobil 1 The Grid will provide fans with a full year’s access to top motorsports circuits including prominent races from Formula 1, NASCAR and World Rally to Le Mans, DTM and IndyCar.”

Mobil 1 The Grid sixth season highlights will include following Tony Stewart on his return to NASCAR after being side-lined by an injury in 2013; tracking Porsche’s return to the LMP1 class at Le Mans for endurance racing’s biggest story; and exclusive access to McLaren Mercedes to discover how Formula 1 is adapting to the new rules and regulations that will govern how cars look and perform in 2014.

Airing since 2008 in partnership with Sunset & Vine, a leading global sports television distribution and production company, Mobil 1 The Grid features a dynamic mix of exclusive driver profiles, team profiles, behind-the-scenes stories, race highlights and in-depth features on the technology that helps the world’s most famous teams win. The series also offers wide-ranging coverage of a number of global amateur and grassroots racing programs and circuits from ice racing and modifieds to hill climbing and drifting.
