Tommy Baldwin Racing: Reed Sorenson Finishes 16th at Daytona

Fresh Starts: With a new season comes a fresh start for Peachtree City, Georgia native Reed Sorenson. After starting the 56th annual Daytona 500 in the 39th positions, Sorenson brought home the No. 36 Golden Corral Chevy spinning across the finish line in the 16th position.
 
After having a solid run under the lights, Sorenson was able to drive his car up to the front of the pack to compete with top teams in the NASCAR garage.

The Great American Race: The start of the Daytona 500 was just like every other year, excitement buzzing all around the track. After 32 laps of green flag racing, the caution flag flew in the air for rain, which was quickly followed by a red flag. Six hours later, a tornado warning and lots of additional rain, the Air Titans got the track dried and the green flag waved once again at Daytona International Speedway.

Now under the lights for the second version of NASCAR Primetime, drivers were ready to go and driving like it was the last lap of the race. Sorenson quickly drove the No. 36 Golden Corral Chevy to the front of the pack and remained up front for the remainder of the race. Making his way up to fourth place, Sorenson got shuffled back on a restart and fought to get back to the front. With a caution coming out with less than ten laps to go, the field came to the green with three laps remaining. Heading to the front with a pack of cars, Sorenson got spun around and came across the finish line spinning in 16th.

Reed Sorenson on his debut with Tommy Baldwin Racing: “We had a great car today. The weather held us up for a little today, but I am so proud to say that we were up front competing for a Top 10. Those cautions there at the end got us shuffled back a little bit, and then we got caught up in the accident right there on the final lap. I hate that we weren’t able to get a Top 10 and feed the kids on Monday, but we had a great run today and a solid 16th place finish.”
