KMC Wheels join Germain Racing and Casey Mears for 2014 season

Casey Mears and the Germain Racing team have taken the upcoming 2014 season by the horns.  While the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series has yet to see its first green flag of the year, the GEICO team recorded a successful test at Daytona in early January, where they ended up sixth fastest overall and fourth in single car runs.  A subsequent test at Nashville at the end of January once again found them among the fastest cars on the speed chart.

Now, as the Daytona 500 rapidly approaches, Germain Racing is pleased to announce the addition of KMC Wheels as a major associate sponsor on their #13 GEICO Chevrolet SS for the 2014 season.  KMC Wheels, which was founded in 1982, is not unfamiliar to Mears who has long used their cutting edge custom wheels on a variety of vehicles over the years.

KMC Wheels is a brand of Wheel Pros, which has multi-disciplinary sponsorships encompassing nearly the entire sport of auto racing, as well as off-road truck racing.  The relationship with Germain Racing and Casey Mears will be their first full-time sponsorship effort in the sport of NASCAR and will serve to complement their current programs, while also expanding their reach among the racing world.  Wheel Pros’ longstanding commitment to motorsports has Mears excited to be the KMC Wheels brand ambassador in the world of stock car racing.

“It’s great to have KMC Wheels on-board with us in 2014.  I have known these guys for a long time and have used their wheels on many of my trucks, so it’s great to be the face of what they’re doing in NASCAR,” Mears said.  “We’ll work hard to help raise awareness of their brand in a sport with such a passionate fan base.  This announcement is great news as we start the year.  GEICO is on the car for at least the next couple of years and our new relationship with Chevrolet and RCR (Richard Childress Racing) seems to be working out really well.  KMC is a great addition to our program and we appreciate their support.”

Wheel Pros president, Jody Groce, echoed Mears’ enthusiasm about the partnership.

“We’re excited to partner with Germain Racing and Casey Mears for the 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season.  We feel that NASCAR has a strong fan base and this was good timing for us to enter that space and begin engaging fans that so strongly embrace the drivers and their sponsors,” Groce said.  “We share the fans’ passion for auto racing and look forward to building relationships in NASCAR that will both raise awareness of our KMC brand, as well as provide race fans with a superior, stylish wheel option for their vehicles.”
