Swan Racing Announces 2014 Season Updates

Swan Racing today announced that it has secured approval from NASCAR to compete in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series with the No. 26 in addition to the No. 30.  Cole Whitt will pilot the No. 26 Toyota Camry while Parker Kligerman will drive the No. 30 Toyota Camry.  Both Whitt and Kligerman will compete for the NASCAR Rookie of the Year award. 

The team also announced that Randy Cox will be will be Whitt’s crew chief.  Cox was Whitt’s crew chief for 12 races in the NASCAR Nationwide Series last season in which they scored four Top 10s.  Steven “Bones” Lane has been elevated the competition director and will serve as crew chief for Kligerman.  Lane was the crew chief of the No. 30 in 2013.

Swan Racing competed with the No. 30 for all races in 2013 but for the season opening Daytona 500 in which the team entered the No. 26 with a special paint scheme dedicated to the 26 victims from the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.  The team will enter both cars in all 36 NSCS races in 2014. 

“Things are shaping up for the team,” said general manager Bray Pemberton.  We expect to make more announcements in the near future about new partners and sponsors.”
