Another top-30 finish for Reutimann at “The Monster Mile”

David Reutimann and the No. 83 Burger King / Dr. Pepper Toyota Camry finished 28th at Dover (Del.) International Speedway on Sunday, September 29.  The No. 83 BK Racing crew spent the majority of the day working on the handling of their Toyota Camry before bringing home a top-30 finish.

In his second start this season at “The Monster Mile,” Reutimann rolled off 39th for the AAA 400.  Despite working with a tight racecar early in the event, Reutimann charged through the field moving into the top 30 and received a free pass during the first caution of the day on lap 38.  At a track where drivers carry momentum through the corners and quick lap times lead to heavy lapped-traffic, Reutimann was left to fight with nearly three-quarters of the field to regain laps and track position.  His BK Racing crew continued to make wholesale adjustments with each pit stop to help the balance of his car, and Reutimann raced hard to put himself in position to regain track position.  By the conclusion of 400 laps at the Central Delaware concrete mile, Reutimann was scored in the 28th position.

“Our No. 83 Burger King / Dr. Pepper Toyota Camry didn’t handle quite the way we wanted it to, but our team never gave up,” commented Reutimann.  “That ‘never give up’ attitude is really important, and I appreciate all the work that they put into the race today to help us improve.  Through that hard work we were able to both improve our car, and put us in the best position to regain track position.  There are still seven races left this year, and our BK Racing team won’t be giving up in any of them.  I’m looking forward to getting to Kansas Speedway next weekend.”
