Ryan Truex takes the wheel for Phoenix Racing at Dover

Ryan Truex will drive the No. 51 Shooters Sporting Center Chevrolet this weekend for Phoenix Racing in the AAA 400 at Dover International Speedway.

“I can’t wait to get back in the seat of the No. 51 Shooters Sporting Center Chevrolet for Phoenix Racing at Dover,” said Truex. “I am grateful to Harry Scott Jr. for the opportunity to compete in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. I’m going to make the most out of this opportunity.”

Truex has competed in the No. 51 on two previous occasions this season including at Bristol Motor Speedway under the lights and at Richmond International Raceway two weeks later on September 6, 2013. Truex, 21 from Mayetta, NJ, has raced in 35 NASCAR Nationwide Series races over the past three years with two Top 5 and nine Top 10 finishes. In 2012 Truex captured the pole position in the June NNS event at Dover International Speedway in No. 20 for Joe Gibbs Racing with a strong second place finish.

“I love racing at Dover. It is my home track in the national series. The Monster Mile’s high banks are fun to drive, I’ve had a lot of success competing there,” said Truex.

The primary sponsor on the No. 51 will be Shooters Sporting Center, which is an indoor shooting range for firearms and archery enthusiasts. Located near Ryan’s hometown in Egg Harbor, NJ, Shooters Sporting Centers celebrates its Grand Opening on Saturday, September 28. More information can be found at www.ShootersNJ.net.

“I’m proud to have Shooters Sporting Center sponsoring my car at Dover. The Shooters Sporting Center is the perfect place for outdoor enthusiasts to sharpen their skills at the range,” said Truex.

Another sponsor on the car is a company with local ties. SeaWatch International makes seafood products from high quality offshore clams and was founded in Milford, DE in 1978 and today is headquartered in Easton, MD.
