Cheez-It Packs on Activation at The Glen

Kellogg Company, a partner of Roush Fenway Racing since 2010, will activate their multi-year entitlement sponsorship of this weekend’s Cheez-It355 at The Glen and run their second primary paint scheme with Carl Edwards in the No. 99  Cheez-It Ford Fusion.

“It’s a really fun race and it would be big to put Kellogg’s in victory lane,” said Edwards. “Michael Printup (President, Watkins Glen International) said it would rain Cheez-It®, if we win.”

Cheez-It® brand’s parent, the Kellogg Company, has been involved with NASCAR since 1991. However this will be the company’s first entitlement sponsorship. The announcement with Watkins Glen International was first made in January of 2013.

“Watkins Glen fans are passionate and loyal, just like our Cheez-It® consumers,” says Brad Goist, VP and General Manager, Cookies and Crackers.  “This sponsorship allows us to support the passion of “Real Fans”.

This season, Cheez-It® has teamed up with Senior Writer for ESPN, Ryan McGee, to capture the essence of what it takes to be a NASCAR Sprint Cup driver on his weekly blogs for KelloggsRacing.com.

“I’ve really enjoyed writing the Kellogg’s Racing blog this season because I’ve always loved opening little windows into the sport for people that they might not typically know about, even the biggest of race fans,” said McGee.

Fans are invited to further join the conversation surrounding the weekend by following McGee on Twitter @ESPNMcGee. Starting at 11AM EST on Sunday, Ryan will answer questions sent with #askryan.

“Whether it’s throwing the spotlight on an unsung member of the crew or a peek at Carl’s approach to being a professional athlete, there are a lot of those windows to open,” added McGee.
