Danica Patrick: Here, There and Everywhere

It started in the Silicon Valley and will end in Kentucky. In between, Danica Patrick has been “Here, There and Everywhere.”

Patrick, driver of the No. 10 GoDaddy Chevrolet SS for Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR), spent last Thursday in GoDaddy’s new Silicon Valley office meeting with employees and checking out the new digs. From there, she headed to Sonoma, Calif., for three days to participate in the Toyota/SaveMart 350k NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race before flying to Concord, N.C., following the event Sunday night.

After participating in the Stewart-Haas Racing team debrief Monday, she headed up to Loudon, N.H., to test at New Hampshire Motor Speedway Tuesday and Wednesday. After a brief stop in Concord once again, it will be off to Kentucky Speedway in Sparta for Sunday’s Kentucky 400 Sprint Cup Series race.

In short, the usual busy summer stretch is in full swing for Patrick and the other Sprint Cup Series drivers.

The stretch continues in the Bluegrass State and Kentucky Speedway is yet another new venue for Patrick in the Sprint Cup Series. But, like several other tracks on the schedule, she has competed there in an IndyCar or a NASCAR Nationwide Series car.

She competed in both Nationwide Series races at the 1.5-mile oval in 2012, starting 11th in both races and finishing 12th in June and 14th in September. In seven IZOD IndyCar Series starts at Kentucky, Patrick has one pole (August 2005) and four top-10 finishes.

After a long week of travel, nothing would conclude the “Here, There and Everywhere” tour like a solid run at Kentucky. And, if she and the GoDaddy team can produce one, she may hear the voice of the late Happy Chandler singing “My Old Kentucky Home.”
