Riding momentum from the team’s first top-10 of the season, Marcos Ambrose and the No. 9 DEWALT Ford team look forward to high-speed racing at the 1.5-mile Texas Motor Speedway this weekend.
The team will utilize a test session Thursday to prepare their newly-built chassis for 501 miles under the lights on Saturday.
Ambrose will make his 10th start at the speedway. He has collected four top-15 finishes, including a sixth-place finish with Richard Petty Motorsports in the spring of 2011.
Comments from DEWALT Ford Fusion Driver Marcos Ambrose:
“Last week’s top-10 finish was really what we needed. We know we are a team capable of running up front each week. We just had a monkey on our back. After getting a front row start and then finishing eighth, we have our confidence back. We just need to keep going. We have something to build off.
“Texas is a fast track. We’ll get some extra track time with the test session on Thursday, so I am confident that the DEWALT guys will dial the new chassis in. We were fast at mile-and-a-half tracks last season. Our guys are getting a lot better with the new cars, and I think we’ll be pretty fast this weekend.”
Comments from Crew Chief Drew Blickensderfer on Texas:
“Texas is a very fast track and handling is very important. We’ll have three and a half hours to test the car on Thursday. We’ve got a good plan going into the test. I’m confident we can ride the high of last week’s top-10 to race up in the front this weekend.”
